Scratch a Fascist and a Liberal 2.0 bleeds

From Haz "The proto liberals 2.0s/liberal 2.0s and na.zis have always been allies. They projected their own filth and sickness onto honest working Americans. Pagans, nihilists, degenerates. The working people of America will defeat this anti human scum. The Democratic Party is the party of Naughtzism"

My reply to Haz: People will side with those that have similar goals. Liberal 2.0ers and fascists both don't want a socialist revolution and will side with each other to fight one. Liberal 2.0ers and socialists both don't want a fascist revolution and will side with each other to fight one. The problem is that unlike socialism, fascism is willing and capable to infiltrate a liberal 2.0 society without doing a revolution, meaning that liberal 2.0ers will only effectively start opposing it when it's already too late and will stop leftists from meaningfully oppose it, because it would mean attacking the liberal society.

A lot of leftist will also side with fascists when their goals overlap. Like discrediting liberalism 2.0 or the thing you see most often these days: promoting western isolationism. The left just wants that because of a revisionist version of anti imperialism and the right wants it because they don't want to deal with foreigners.

Of course these things don't apply to everyone, but that's how I see it. In my opinion saying X group always sides with Y group over Z group is generally pretty reductive and not really helpful

The book Liberal fascism by Jonah Goldberg made me think the book was about how liberal 2.0ers are complacent with fascism like I mentioned above so i thought it would be an interesting read. Well it turns out that the book is about how fascism is left wing in origins and national socialists are actually socialist. Jonah says that some Democrats have fascist-like policies, I didn’t pick it up because of the “national socialist are socialist “ bit but i want to know if anyone has read it!?

The proto liberal 2.0ers in the US co-opted the programs of the Socialists and Communists in the US in the 1930s. It wasn’t Fascist Italy or NDSAP Germany. Up until FDR the Republican presidents were friendly to fascism.

But yeah, there was no "socialism" in national socialism. The Naughtzies squashed labor immediately after taking power. They crushed the SPD and the unions (their leadership). The working class did not own or control the MOP under the NDSAP.

The "socialism" in the name was a right wing populist tactic to appeal to the labor-oriented working class (and sections of the petite-bourgeoisie) in an effort to make their politics more amenable to the masses at large, which in general (at the time) held very favorable views of socialism. If the term "liberal fascism" is being used only to illustrate and emphasize how "some" democrats have fascist-like policies, then it's a useless term.

So Michael Parenti's "Black Shirts and Reds." book is a much much better and more accurate take on this than Jonah Goldberg's 'Liberal fascism' book
